WHAT'S THE FOCUS OF YOUR COACHING NEEDS?
EMOTION-FOCUSED PARTNER COACHING
Conflict is like a tango... a series of moves toward and away from your partner, trying to feel understood and seen and heard. We dance with our partners to feel safe and connected, but fear gets in the way sometimes. Work with Vanessa, a certified Emotion-Focused Couples Therapist, as a supportive coach to walk through your partner dance together, increase your attainment skills with each other, and find your natural resourcefulness. Couples working through infidelity, addictions, or domestic violence are not candidates for partner coaching - only for clinical counseling.
UNICORN SPACE COACHING
Creativity is hard work. Unicorn Space coaching is about finding yourself, giving yourself permission to be interesting, exploring what brings you joy outside of being a professional, parent or partner.
Corporations and small businesses might also find this helpful for organizational play and team building.
The brain reaches its peak development during the teen years, when it begins the process of neural pruning and myelination. Transitions are hard, identify development and social relationships begin and development happens across the entire life cycle. In an age of virtual friendships, social media and smart phones being part of childhood, teens may need a less threatening form of help than counseling before they reach crisis intervention level needs: a coach.
ADULT SIBLINGS & PARENTS RELATIONAL COACHING
Address your relational communication needs and reach solutions with extended family across state lines when needed. These coaching sessions are focused on building resilience between adult siblings, as well as parents and their adult children (and their partners/spouses)
FAIR PLAY METHOD
Vanessa Knight is a certified trainer and facilitator of the Fair Play Method, based on the bestselling book by Eve Rodsky The Fair Play Method.
Domestic equity has become a primary conversations for couples in our society.
ATTACHMENT-BASED PARENTING COACHING
Parenthood, and motherhood in particular, challenges us to confront shadows of our inner world, manage stereotypes and expectations, and self-regulate moment to moment with our kids. Work through parenting observations you've made with Vanessa as a side-by-side coach. Vanessa's a mother of four kids whose ages span a decade!
END-OF-LIFE & GRIEF COACHING
A Good Death.
Work with dignity towards the next big adventure. Walk through terminal illness, aging, death and dying, grief with a professionally certified End-of-Life Doula and grief processing coach. Establish advance directives, legacies and wishes, facilitate communication with loved ones about how. This coaching will help you and your family connect to local resources networks and helps you tell your beautiful story.
Non-traditional education, homeschooling, parent-led education, hybrid or virtual school, world-schooling...
Work with Vanessa to de-school yourself as a parent and help your children learn without traditional or institutional school. The human brain learns anytime, anywhere, with many teachers. Parents are the first teachers.
Coaching is not counseling.
What's the difference?
Counseling is a professional field that qualifies the provider to assess and make diagnoses. Counseling is recognized as a healthcare procedure with specific protocols and methodologies for specific presenting issues. Counselors are trained rigorously (generally in a 60-hour Master's degree program) and held to ethical and licensure regulations. Vanessa W. Knight is a trained and licensed professional counselor in the states of KS and MO and will participate in the Counseling Compact in 2024 when it becomes live (click link to view state map of legislation).

Vanessa can provide coaching to anyone in the United States or internationally. The International Coach Federation (ICF), which claims to be the largest coaching credentialing and support organization in the world, defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Professional coaches provide an ongoing partnership designed to help clients produce fulfilling results in their personal and professional lives. Coaches help people improve their performances and enhance the quality of their lives. Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to customize their approach to individual client needs. They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client; they believe the client is naturally creative and resourceful. The coach’s job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources and creativity that the client already has.” Although Vanessa holds privacy as the utmost ethical principle in all practice, coaching is not HIPPA-protected and coaching is not reimbursable by your health insurance carrier.
