WHERE ARE WE?

We have two in-person locations and are available for virtual sessions. Our locations are in the historic Library District of downtown KC, MO and in Leawood, KS at the corner of College Blvd. and Nall Avenue. Vanessa Knight manages and sees clients at the Downtown location, and Ben Taussig manages and sees clients at the Leawood location.

IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING CANCELLATIONS

Out of courtesy for both counselors and other clients who might need session times, please note that, in order to avoid billing for unattended sessions, we have a 48 hour cancellation policy. This allows other clients enough access to scheduling their needed sessions. This is not negotiable. Here's the process: 

  • You receive an automated reminder text and/or email at 72 hours prior to your session start time. You then have 24 hours to cancel with no fees.

  • Our scheduling software locks in your time at 48 hours from the session's start time, so if you need to cancel within less than 48 hours, please call or email your counselor. Do not text. 

  • If you are unable to make a face-to-face appointment at our offices due to childcare or illness or transportation problems, we are available for technology-enabled sessions (SimplePractice, Zoom, phone, FaceTime, Skype, etc.) for your continuing, uninterrupted care. Our practice expects clients to make themselves available to scheduled times, regardless of whether in-person sessions are preferred. 

  • If you cancel between 24 and 48 hours, you will be charged 50% of your session fee.

  • If you cancel less than 24 hours, the full session fee is expected.

  • Your counselor respectfully and exclusively reserves his/her time for you. Your agreement at intake to pay for missed sessions is a reciprocated gesture of respect for their time.

HOW TO SCHEDULE

You can view your counselor's availability and book online, as well as cancel or reschedule your counseling session. Once you have booked, you will receive a confirmation email or text (your choice). In this email, there are links for you to manage your sessions schedule.

You may schedule as many sessions as you like, at any time of the day or night.

NEW CLIENTS

Once you have requested/scheduled your first session, you'll receive a follow up email with digitalized intake paperwork and signature forms to complete at your convenience. If you prefer to fill out a hardcopy of the paperwork and scan/email back to your counselor directly, you may use this PDF of the Client Intake Information Packet.

A counselor will email you back within 48 hours. Counselors are available via cell phone to maximize our accessibility to your needs.
